As in most of Madeira, this “beach” is composed mostly of rocks. There is, though, a bar right next to it where you can sit down and enjoy the beautiful view. Entrance to the beach is through a tunnel. If in the area, you can also visit the nearby paid swimming pools. A fairly exposed reef break with reliable surf. Due to the rocks and pips, this is not a wave for beginners. May get crowded.
The best wind direction is N – when other peaks are destroyed by high west winds, this wave will hold up. Best swell direction is N. A very decent wave.
